Gangtok Darjeeling Itinerary

Day 1: Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station to Gangtok

• Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, our representative will meet you to assist you on your journey to Gangtok. Enjoy the scenic views along the route, including the picturesque Teesta River.   

• Once you reach Gangtok, check into your hotel. You will have the rest of the evening at your leisure; feel free to relax or explore the famous MG Marg, where you can find unique souvenirs.  

• Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.  

Day 2: Gangtok Local Sightseeing

• After a hearty breakfast, you will begin your sightseeing tour in Gangtok. First, visit the Tashi Viewpoint, where you can admire the majestic beauty of Kanchenjunga.  

• Next, embrace the spiritual aspect of your journey by visiting Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok. You'll also have the opportunity to explore the Handicraft Center to learn more about local handicrafts.  

• Continue your cultural exploration at the Institute of Tibetology, where you can delve into the rich heritage of Tibet. Experience the tranquil atmosphere and chantings of Buddhist monks at Dro-Dul Chorten and Enchey Monastery.  

• For a breathtaking view of the entire city, take a scenic ride on the ropeway. Additionally, plant lovers will enjoy the Flower Exhibition Center, a delightful tropical nursery.  

• Wrap up your day with a visit to the stunning Banjakhri Falls and relax to the soothing sounds of flowing water.  

• Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.  

Day 3: Gangtok to Changu Lake & Baba Mandir (Nathu La Optional)

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you'll depart for the famous oval-shaped Changu Lake, situated at an elevation of about 3,780 meters above sea level. The lake offers breathtaking scenic beauty and is home to brahminy ducks and many other migratory birds.  

Following this, visit the shrine of Baba Mandir, where you can take a moment to reflect or enjoy the peaceful ambiance. After your visit, you'll return to Gangtok, taking in the beautiful views of the misty mountains along the way.

Day 4: Gangtok to Darjeeling 

• After a hearty breakfast, you will proceed to Darjeeling. Enjoy the magical beauty of the Himalayas and the stunning views of the valleys as you travel. You will be mesmerized by the numerous tea gardens and towering mountains along the way.  

• Upon reaching Darjeeling, check into your hotel to relax or explore the delightful Mall Road in the evening.  

• Overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling.  

Day 5: Darjeeling Sightseeing

• Wake up early (around 4 AM) to start your journey to the top of the famous Tiger Hill. Here, you can witness a mesmerizing sunrise as it casts a golden light on the peak of Kanchenjunga (subject to clear weather).  

• Following this stunning experience, visit Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery.   

• After breakfast, you will continue your tour, covering major attractions such as the Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays), the Ropeway, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre (closed on Sundays), Tenzing Rock, Japanese Temple, and Peace Pagoda.
